LOP Piranhas
Swim Team

The Lake of the Pines (LOP) Piranhas are one of six teams participating in the Sierra Foothills Swim League (SFSL) established circa 1990. The SFSL successfully combines the spirit of recreation and competition through a series of dual meets -- pitting one team against another-- during the summer months. The swim season culminates in early August with a Championship meet where all six teams compete for SFSL Trophy.

The team is made up of about 150 swimmers, both LOP residents and non-residents, between the ages of 5 and 18.  The registration period is usually in March.  Practices usually begin the first week after Memorial Day weekend and are held between the hours of 6:30PM and 9:00PM.  Practice times/length (30 - 45 minutes) will vary depending on the age and ability of the swimmer.

The Piranhas have built a solid swimming foundation and have enjoyed great success in the SFSL, swimming to eleven consecutive undefeated seasons and successfully winning the League Championships in each of these seasons.  At the end of last season, LOP swimmers accounted for about half of all indvidual records and virtually all relay records.

MVP
Given to swimmers at the end of each season based on points scored at Champs and Regular Season.

Most Improved 
Given to swimmers that, at the end of the season, have shown the most improvements over the course of the season.

Coaches Award
Given by the coaches to swimmers that have exemplary attitude, dedication and are driven to improve.
